Our Board
Leah Shin is currently a 12th grader that proudly attends Henry M.Jackson High School. Since she was a 7th grader, Leah has actively been a part of the Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board where she volunteered for many community events. Through the board she found a strong love to make other people smile. This inspired her that she, only one girl, can change this word with her infinite amount of passion of serving others and her love for books, thus the creation of: Literacy for love. She is currently a officer for Model U.N. and the Mill Creek Youth Advisory Board. In school she also participates as a three-year member in Technology Student Association.
She is also the President of her graduating class and it will be her second year on the executive board. Not only is she actively involved with clubs but she continues to be on her school's honor roll, placed in the state and national level for biotechnology and web master, and placed 2nd in a state-wide writing contest. Lastly, Leah is also a dedicated golfer for her high school team lettering her first three years where she will continue to be Varsity Golf Captain her upcoming senior year and played in WJGA. As her high school career continues, she hopes to leave her mark in her community and at Jackson. |

Co-Director Ali Alameedi Ali Alameedi is currently a 12th grade stud at Henry M. Jackson High School and has a tendency to be overly happy. From a very young age, he has been involved in volunteer; surrounded by it rather. He volunteers at local food banks, homeless shelters, and elderly homes during his spare time. His sole passion revolves around helping those in need, regardless of how small the help might be. Being a leader constiitutes service - meaning the leader serves the members and the leader keeps a strong, open mind to what the members feel and say. He believes in everyone having an opinion and builds loving bonds with those he meets.
In addition to being involved in volunteer, he participates in swim and actively tries to make people smile. Bad jokes make up a part of his character and, if you want to be his friend, you'll probably have to deal with, and sometimes laugh at, these bad jokes! Other than that, he's really excited to serve the members of Literacy for Love. |
